Forever Seeking Light

Since he was young, award-winning director Joel Dunn has been on a life-long journey seeking to explore the human condition and celebrate our shared humanity. Hailing from New York City, common themes weave through Dunn’s work where he tells stories of resiliency and bravery, of identity, sacrifice, coming of age, sharing joy and spreading light.

 

Graduating from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, Dunn was included in SHOOT Magazine’s New Directors Showcase for his Apple commercial COMMANDER, and produced the Academy Award shortlisted, KUSH, winning Best Short Film at the Venice Film Festival.

 

Dunn's PSA BAD WATER was shortlisted for a 2022 New York Festivals Genius Award, and won Best In Show at the 2022 w3 Awards. His work has garnered over 50 million views online and played in renowned film festivals around the world. His short films have received grants from Kodak, the Kennedy/Marshall Company, and the Ben and Christine Stiller Trust.
